We are often asked, "What else can I do to help?" We need donations of many different items. Please feel free to use this list as a reference guide, but you do not have to limit yourself to this list.
You can donate single and varied items, but tf you see a pattern that you like and don't know how to sew, knit or crochet, you can purchase all the necessary items for the pattern and donate 'Binky Kits' to be made by another volunteer.
All items must be new or unused. We will also accept fabric scraps and partial skeins of yarn.

Quilt Items
Cotton or fleece Fabric. Look for child-friendly colors. We can always use solid colors for creating the backing on quilts.
Batting. Batting is used in making quilts, it is the stuff that gives the quilt thickness and softness.
Thread. Currently, we have a variety of thread, but we can always use more.
Knit or Crochet Items
Yarn. We can always use White or Solid Color Yarn for use as a main color to create blankets that incorporate 'scraps'.
Yarn Amounts. Yarn is sold in ounces. The amount of yarn that is required to create a blanket varies based on the weight of the yarn, the hook size or needle size and the pattern. Soft, Worsted Weight or Sport Weight is great for most blankets, however you can also donate Baby Fingering Yarn as well. Estimate 20 oz for a small blanket, about 64 oz for a medium/large blanket, and about 80-100 oz for an extra-large blanket (for a twin size bed). If you are unsure how much to purchase, find a pattern that you like and make a 'Binky Kit'.
Hooks / Needles. We can use all sizes of Crochet Hooks, Crochenit Hooks, and Knitting Needles and Tapestry Needles. This will help us to stock our library of items that can be borrowed by our Blanketeers.
A Binky Kit consists of a pattern and all the supplies required for making a blanket. Binky Kits are created for Quilts, Knitted or Crocheted Blankets. These kits are great! If you donate a Binky Kit we will put your name on our special Blanketeer page as a Binky Kit Designer. If you need ideas for patterns, check out our Projects page.
Gift Cards- In small denominations for Wallmart, JoAnns, Beverly Fabrics. We will provide you with a tax deductible receipt for the amount. Gift cards enable us to not store inventory- but buy materials as needed.
Also, gift cards to Staples would be much appreciated. We need to print flyers so printer paper and printer cartridges are always needed, HP 02.
We also use the large, clear plastic bags (33 gal.) to transport our binkies and are always in need of more of those.
All of these items are tax deductible and we will provide you with a receipt for your taxes, just let us know!
